"We raise our children differently" means that the moment they leave the teat, we thrust them into the harshest realities of life and adulthood that we can possibly think of. With no moral or even comforting support from the actual adults in the "home". Suck it up, kiddos. Life is brutal. May as well learn it young.

"Can we swear here, @sally? "
You absolutely have to be fucking kidding me, right?
Yes, you can swear here. Just not at me.

My mom was pretty strict and we didn’t watch that much tv anyways when I was a kid. I was outside playing until it was time to eat or the porch light was turned on to come in. When I was around 10 I watched Nightmare on Elmstreet and I Spit on your grave with my dads girlfriend. Let me tell you those were not kid friendly! I had a little trouble sleeping that night but I never told an adult I was scared shitless then or ever. So just because you think your child is engaged in the movie and seemed fine after doesn’t mean they were!

The next movie choice in the shitsted will most likely be Sophies Choice, or Rosemary's baby. It's so incredibly sad

Years ago someone in my book club chose this as our book for the month. I read about one chapter and then threw the book in the trash. Now, I am a book lover and often give away books that I'm finished with, but I can't remember ever throwing one away. When I saw the movie trailers I was appalled that they had made a movie from this book. It's horrifying that N allowed her children to see it.They are not what I consider to be a "spiritual" family and I wonder if she even bothered to discuss/answer questions afterwards.

I was told that I was an over protective Mother. I was always a bit of a stickler when it came to looking at age limits of things. Why? because one of my kids is autistic and can take things literally. I had to comfort him when he watched the Lionking and he had me up night after night over the death of a lion. I did let my kids watch some things and play some games older than the recommendation .... but only within a few years of the suggested limit.
Everyone will be different in this area but ...... I stick by what I did and what I thought was right. Neither of my kids had their own TV/phones etc until they were gone 10 so that I knew what they were watching. Books were also looked at and certain books were held back until I felt they were ready for them. Even Harry Potter!
Both my Sons are very well adjusted adults who are now both at University .... despite a few unexpected trauma's in their lives. (health and divorce - for which I made sure they had an independent person they could speak to!)
The Nozzlers are just plain stupid and think they are so bloody righteous. They don't give a flying fuck about them, not what they get to see or what they do or what their futures are. They only care about them being able to work in the shop and that the elders look after the littlies. The middles are workers. They will see this latest tragedy as another "this is why we homeschool" excuse. The Turpins will be back in the news Nozzlers ..... as I am sure you will be.
So angry at her for what she is doing to those poor children. Her and the shitstead HH have NO IDEA what they are doing to their children's heads! fucking assholes!

There is a difference between we raise our children differently and we suck as parents.
