My 26 year old daughter had surgery today, to remove an ovarian cyst that had been steadily growing, and eventually causing her great pain. While monitoring it for nine months, and hoping it would burst on its own (as they are wont to do, i understand) it became concerning enough that surgery was the only option. As it turns out, once they were in there, they had no option but to remove the entire ovary. She did wonderfully well, and is home resting, with the best fiance known to man waiting on her hand and foot.and as we have also learned, a woman with one working ovary is no less fertile than a woman with two. The remaining ovary takes over for the missing one. Modern medicine, and the human body, are miraculous things. But here is something I already knew....without a doctor, monitoring, check-ups, medical treatment, this all could have ended disasterously. Some things can't just be "prayed away".

I embrace medical knowledge, and adore big pharma. I hope your daughter heals quickly, and am glad that she has such a good support system.
