Hi, I'm Michelle. Real name. I can't remember if I started following at the beginning of the viral bullshit, or a little later. It came across my newsfeed somehow, and since I find FB mostly annoying, i generally use it to scroll for interesting or weird stories. I then found BLH and from there some of the "troll" pages, and eventually the blog. I was immediately hooked, as their constant bullshit was so glaringly obvious to anyone with a few brain cells, and all of these things became my daily "i must check the pages" routine. But i remained in the shadows for a long time, out of fear of trolling. Then, the onset of THE GROUPS! Suddenly i started running my mouth like crazy! The first time i actually "spoke" to Deb, Lisa, or got a response from Sally, it was like I was in the presence of royalty!! Lol. And the night I spoke to Al.....talk about starstruck! I made a damn fool of myself! And was given the nickname Rizzo by Deb, due to my innapropriousity I think (is that a word? Lol). So long story short, thanks for giving me a voice, gals. And thanks for keeping the bullshit in the bright light of day. I still pray for all those poor kids. However, Joe and Nic go piss up a rope!

Btw, upstate N.Y., and certainly no farmer, with the exception of a few failed chicken and duck experiments when my kids were little. (I feel nics livestock failure pain! Haha).I now know more about cows, chickens, and gardens than I ever thought I wanted to!

(our school year starts in January, like sane people) Same here!! Though it can depend a week or so here or there on what state you live in, but generally, school ends for the year early December, and the new school year starts last week of Jan/1st week of February.

Another Michelle here, and I feel like Michelle#1 expressed many of my same thoughts about this. I called in once to the podcast and rambled probably incoherently (about my awesome neighbors) because I was so nervous (or maybe drunk!?)haha. I think I started following around when they initially went viral and it seemed like there absolutely HAD TO BE more to the story and I was so thankful to discover Sally's blog which really helped me fill in the missing pieces.
I have been transfixed by this whole saga and my poor husband does not get it at all and it drives him crazy whenever I mention anything naug, which tends to happen frequently since it is such a shitshow and it seems like many topics can make their way to incorporate naug shenanigans without a while lot of effort..
We have a small farm (likely an overstatement, but homestead isn't the right word either since this is our livelihood) that we started by quitting our jobs and moving to a different state to start. I was kind of shocked to realize that it has been 14 years since that happened! We have a little bit of everything going on but no one endeavor stands out as the main one, and the mix changes over time. That does NOT make me at all an expert, BUT it does make it so that I can mostly recognize some of the "homesteady" bullshit for what it is, which is what alerted me initially to the fact that all was not as it was designed to appear. Oh, I apparently tend to be long winded and go on tangents.

Hi, I'm Marian. I'm based in the U.K. and I've been reading the Blessed Little Blog for a while. I'm not sure how I found it, but I find the entire thing utterly absorbing with these nutty people, and I really enjoy the way Sally writes. Whilst I'm obviously not American and can just about grow herbs in a pot in my garden (to give you an idea of the extent of my homesteading abilities lol), I do have a slightly morbid fascination with American evangelicals/fundamentalists etc etc (my mother got sucked into an evangelical cult some years ago, is still very much involved in it and has some pretty extreme views which are utterly alien to me- it's caused a lot of tension over the years). I probably won't post too much, I'm a mum to two under-twos so that's keeping me pretty bloody busy but I shall be lurking and enjoying all your posts!

Hi its me - Elizabeth. I think I was reading Free Jinger and was lead to the Naugler saga and the Blessed Little Blog. I appreciate Sallys style of writing and look forward to reading it. I live in Southern Louisiana, but no we don’t have alligators in our yards. You wouldn’t believe how often I get asked that. I have a full time job as an accountant, a husband, 3 grown daughters and 2 grandchildren. I don’t live on a farm, but we do have a few acres that are manageable. When Im not working, I like to sew, crochet and do pretty much anything crafty; I also like to experiment with new recipes.

I’m a retired RN who just bought land on Kentucky lake and plan to build in a year. I’ve had large over productive hobby gardens, and had my tubes tied at two children because that was the number of children we could take good care of. Consequently I’m retired comfortably. My children are happily independent with, in my opinion, my perfect grandchildren, and married perfect daughters in law. My husband recently died and I was surrounded by loving and helpful children and friends. These are real life friends, not vaporous Facebook friends. I have some rough moments when I’m alone at night, but I know I’m going to be fine. I have two indoor cats, and an indoor, outdoor, indoor, outdoor, indoor dog.
My grandmother loved soap operas. I couldn’t stand soap operas and I always thought that her fixation with the soap opera characters made my grandmother a little wacky.
Well, here I am watching an inelegant soap opera. Each day just like my grandmother I tune in to see what shit the main character has dreamed up. My grandmother was a southern lady and I only recall her saying “shhhiiiiiit” once. (Followed by delighted laughter from her teenaged granddaughters.) I hear my grandmother saying “shhhiiiit” over and over when I check in, almost daily, on Nicole...

By the way I’m not a drinker...except for a glass of good wine... or an occasional gin and tonic... The little hamster is named Max. He is a cartoon character drawn by Pericle Giovannetti. My youngest son had a book full of the cartoons and it turned into his favorite book to read to himself when he was about three or four. I’d hear him in his room cracking up and when I checked on him he was “reading Max”... There are no words in the book. He still has the book.

Hi everyone. I found out about the Naugler's right when the kids were taken into care, I don"t remember exactly how. I started looking around for the other side and eventually came across Sally's blog. This all fascinates me because I had kind of a jack of all trades lifestyle growing up, from Protestant church with a Rabbi minister, to my parents quitting the rat race to homestead, to having a disabled child and working in and advocating for special Ed., to being a foster parent and still fostering young adults, to questioning my faith and ultimately ditching it. The Nauglers do the polar opposite of what most of us would do and don't care what effect this has on their own kids. They are perpetrators of gross negligence and abuse who need to be called out. Sally, you do so with skill and pizzazz, while also teaching about so many other things. Oh! I forgot the nursing- my mother was and my sister is a nurse, there's that.

Hello everyone. I'm not really a big poster on boards, I'm more of a reader. Someone has usually said what I'm thinking anyway.
I found the nauglers on FJ back at the beginning.
I have watched, mostly, because these people have a lot of the same tendencies as my parents had. We weren't as poor, but so many other things N & J do/are was very similar to my childhood.
The constant need for attention. The spin. The blatant disregard for the children's wellbeing. Etc.
I found BLB because I *knew * there was another side. A side of people being affected by the N's behavior. I saw this growing up, too. When it seems everyone is out to get you... Perhaps take a look in the mirror?
I used to be big into "homesteading" and still enjoy many things, but I haven't had a garden in years, and no animals. But I still enjoy reading about others'.
I don't have a lot to say.. Just wanted to introduce myself. :-) I'm mostly a lurker, but generally nodding my head in agreement.

I'm in my late 30's and canadian. I stumbled on the Blog from the Skeptical OB and got instantly hooked. My family used to have dairy cattle so I also stayed for the cow stories Raising chickens is something suburban us are planning in the near future. We have the space , just lacking motivation for now. Meanwhile I garden and sporadically work on stupid ideas in my backyard ('Honey, can I get a pool for my goldfishes?' 'Yeah, whatever')
