I'm not sure what board this even belongs on. Please feel free to move it. It reminds me so much of what that family in Southern California and the Nauglers have done; that is to say, move or attempt to flee whenever CPS was called. www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/index.ssf/2018/03/family_in_northern_california.htmlI don't know why, but this does make me even sadder. One of the boys, Davonte Hart, was pictured in Oregon during the Ferguson protests hugging a white officer after he was holding a sign saying "free hugs" and the officer asked for one. This is why I will never stop watching the Naugler children. Those beautiful souls deserve so much better and CPS in Kentucky should be ashamed of themselves for not ensuring their safety, health and education.

Well, shit. I just saw the message saying no minors names. The child was named in the article and, obviously, all around the world when the photo was taken. I will take it out if this really breaks the rules, but tonight I feel the need to say this child's name, to remember him, for his name to be on the lips of others in their thoughts and prayers.

I don’t have anything real useful to add, but I just wanted to reply because I saw this article last night and it made me so sad. Those poor kids.

Well, this is troubling, isn't it? OTOH, LE says they find no evidence that the accident was intentional, but OTOH, the neighbors say really bad things, and it's two neighbors, not just one.
It's tragic, either way.

Hi Sally, My husband has been an officer with the CHP for 27 years and works in their emergency operations center. Unfortunately, this does not appear to be an accident at this point. The van had to divert 75 feet off the roadway to reach the edge of the cliff and there were no indications whatsoever that the brakes were employed or any type of evasive steering attempted. No other vehicle was involved. It is, of course, possible someone fell asleep at the wheel at that exact pullout point where there is no guardrail, but we may never know. There's a lot more to this story as I have read other accounts of the CPS involvement. They attempted three contacts in the days before the family left the state. It's just that the pattern is similar to what we have seen elsewhere.
BTW, thanks for these boards. I have served as a moderator and admin for some huge boards over the last twenty years and I know how much work it can be!

Yeah, the more I read about it, the more obvious it becomes that it was a murder/suicide.
